Nottingham Forest will trade tackles with Arsenal in a Premier League matchday 22 clash on Tuesday.

The hosts are fresh off a goalless draw away to Bristol City in the fourth round of the FA Cup, forcing a replay.

Arsenal, meanwhile, had an extra week of rest over the weekend, having been eliminated by Liverpool in the previous round.

The Gunners will be aiming to build on their comfortable 5-0 home thrashing of Crystal Palace last time out in the Premier League. Center-back Gabriel scored a first-half brace while compatriot Gabriel Martinelli also scored two after the break. Leandro Trossard scored in between both Brazilians, with Gabriel Jesus providing the assist for the Belgian.

Nottingham Forest suffered a 3-2 defeat away to Brentford. They took the lead through Danilo's third-minute strike but Ivan Toney scored the equalizer in the 19th minute with a spectacular free-kick on what was his first game back from an eight-month suspension.

Ben Mee and Neal Maupay scored second-half goals on either side of Chris Wood to help the Bees end their five-game winless run.

The defeat left the Tricky Trees in 16th spot on 20 points, four points above the drop zone. Arsenal are third with 43 points to their name.

Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal Prediction

Nottingham Forest are currently four points above the dropzone but face the possibility of a points deduction due to FFP breaches. Nuno Espirito Santo's side need to start climbing up the table to further solidify their status. The West Bridgford outfit are seeking to win successive home league games for the first time this season and will be quietly confident, having won each of the last three home games against Arsenal.

The most recent of those effectively ended Mikel Arteta's side's title aspirations last season and a repeat here could also put paid to their dreams this term. The 41-year-old was the subject of exit speculation over the weekend and a win could help ease some of the furor surrounding his future in the Emirates dugout.

This could be a close affair but we are tipping Arsenal to narrowly nick the game and leave with maximum points.

Nuno Espirito Santo made his utter disdain for FA Cup replays abundantly clear after his side were held by Blackpool in the third round. Forest defeated the League One outfit in the rearranged fixture only to draw with Bristol City in the fourth round on Friday night. "We have to play it," Nuno sighed.

Arsenal didn't make it beyond the third round, losing at home to Liverpool earlier this month, and have enjoyed more than a week's preparation for Tuesday's fixture after hammering five goals past Crystal Palace on 20 January.

Here's everything you need to know about the return of England's top flight.

What time does Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal kick-off?

Location: Nottingham, England

Stadium: The City Ground

Date: Tuesday 30 January

Kick-off time: 19:30 GMT / 14:30 ET / 11:30 PT

Referee: Simon Hooper

VAR: Jarred Gillett

Nottingham Forest: Form (WDWLD)

Nottingham Forest heads into this match following a disappointing 3-2 defeat against Brentford in the League, halting their two-match unbeaten record. Nottingham Forest saw their early-minute goal equalized by Brentford, with the Bees battled from a goal down to secure a huge three-point lead in the fight for relegation.

Nottingham Forest are feeling anxious to get back to winning ways once again against Arsenal, with the previous record against the Gunner showing that Nottingham Forest have won all three consecutive matches played in front of their supporting fans. You may consider taking advantage of this opportunity by betting on Both Teams to Score on 1XBet at 1.90 odd.

Arsenal: Form (DLLLW)

Arsenal's recent form in the league have been inconsistent, putting their chances of winning the Premier League at risk. The Gunners suffered back-to-back defeats to West Ham and Fulham before they were shown the exit door in the FA Cup by Liverpool.

However, Arsenal bounced back in style and showed a five-star performance in their last Premier League game with a comfortable win and title-boosting hope, thrashing Crystal Palace 5-0 to end their four-match winless run across all competitions. They will look confident playing away from home and secure all three points in the game. Bet on Arsenal to win and over 2.5 goals at 2.10 on.

Tough run of games ahead for Forest

Despite winning two of their first four Premier League games since appointing Nuno Espirito Santo, Nottingham Forest remain in deep relegation trouble, sitting just four points above Luton in 18th who have a game in hand.

The relegation picture is about as murky as it can get, with Everton currently fourth bottom having received a 10 point deduction, and then being charged again, along with Forest, with breaching Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

How all of that is going to pan out is anyone's guess, and for the time being Forest simply have to concentrate fully on matters on the field.

However, picking up points is not going to be easy with six of their next seven league games being against teams in the top half of the table, including five of the top seven.

Forest can take some belief from the fact that they've beaten Aston Villa and Manchester United at the City Ground this season, though those two victories do sandwich four consecutive defeats in front of their own fans.

Gunners looking to put recent wobbles behind them

It's been a strange few months for Arsenal. Since struggling to a 4-3 win at Luton in early December the Gunners have won just two of their last eight games in all competitions.

They've fallen five points behind Liverpool in the Premier League table after enjoying Christmas at the top, and they've also been knocked out of the FA Cup.

Yet despite Arsenal's mixed form I feel that Mikel Arteta's men are performing much better now than they were at the start of the season. They were dominant for long periods against West Ham in the league and Liverpool in the cup, yet somehow lost both games without scoring a single goal.

They do however go into Tuesday night's game against Forest on the back of thrashing Crystal Palace 5-0 last weekend, and I sense that Arsenal are about to hit top gear and seriously challenge for the Premier League title.

Arsenal need to claim all three points at the City Ground if they are to keep pace in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners are five points behind table-toppers Liverpool and level with reigning champions Manchester City, who have a game in hand, so Mikel Arteta's side can ill afford any more slip-ups if they are to lift the trophy for the first time in two decades.

Arsenal's early exit from the FA Cup means they have had the benefit of 10 days rest since demolishing Crystal Palace on home soil, which ended their three-game winless streak.

Nottingham Forest have won two of their four Premier League games since Nuno Espírito Santo replaced Steve Cooper in the dugout last month, although they remain just four points clear of the relegation zone.

Striker Chris Wood is in red-hot form with five goals in his last four league appearances, but the big Kiwi has managed to score just once in 11 previous matches against Arsenal.
